(offered to children enrolled for a Friday session only - based upon date of enrolment)

Program:
The trained teachers plan the program for the children at Clare Court Kindergarten. This program is based on the knowledge that children learn through play, and therefore, for specific learning outcomes, we provide specific learning experiences.

The program covers 5 basic areas of development, as relevant to children of this age - emotional, social, physical, cognitive and communication. The program caters for solitary, small group and whole group experiences.

Children learn a variety of things at kindergarten. They will learn to:
  • separate from parents with confidence
  • mix appropriately with other children and adults
  • express themselves through language, movement and art activities
  • practice their independence skills such as eating, washing and looking after personal belongings
  • share with others and wait their turn
  • choose activities for themselves
  • listen to others, follow directions and express their own needs
  • explore the learning process in their own time
  • cooperate with the kinder routine

Generally the children will spend some time indoors, as well as outdoors each session. They will also participate in snack time and a structured whole group mat session featuring stories and music experiences.

Kindergarten is often your child's first experience in a formal educational setting. It should be a happy and positive one for your child - where both parents and staff work together and are mutually interested in your child's progress and achievements.
